Paul Nickson is one of the world’s premier experts on financing and developing power projects in emerging markets and served a Senior Advisor at RP Capital Group. Paul joined RP in September 2010 and spends most of his time in Africa on the advisory side of the business. From time to time, Paul also advises to the Public Private Infrastructure Facility at the World Bank. During his tenure of 12 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as Principal Power Industry Specialist, he appraised about 100 projects, approximately half of which were financed by IFC with resultant returns significantly exceeding the IFC global average. While at IFC he received several awards, including one for establishing the acclaimed Pamir Project in Tajikistan. In recognition of his debt to the North East of England, he has launched the Tony Blair Sports Foundation, to increase opportunities for young people to participate in sport.

Geoff Mulgan is Chief Executive of Nesta, and has been in post since June 2011. Before that he was the founder and director of the think-tank Demos. He is a visiting professor at LSE, UCL, Melbourne University and a regular lecturer at the China Executive Leadership Academy. He is an adviser to many governments around the world, and has been a board member of the Work Foundation, the Health Innovation Council, Political Quarterly and the Design Council, and chair of Involve. He is also currently chair of the Studio Schools Trust and the Social Innovation Exchange. From 2015-2018 Geoff will be a senior visiting scholar at Harvard University, in the Ash Center at the Kennedy School. His recent books include The Art of Public Strategy – Mobilising Power and Knowledge for the Public Good (OUP, 2008) , Good and Bad Power: the ideals and betrayals of government (Penguin, 2006) and Connexity (Harvard Business Press and Jonathon Cape, 1998).
