Mauricio, a Colombian & UK national, joined the Resource Centre in 2006. Until Feb. 2011 he served as Senior Researcher and Head of Latin America & Middle East. He oversees the Centre’s Latin America and Eastern Europe & Central Asia researchers, is involved in the production of briefings and research materials, and manages work streams such as the “Business, Conflict & Peace” project. Mauricio also co-ordinates joint initiatives with Resource Centre partners, and led the recent redevelopment of the Resource Centre’s website. Mauricio previously served as law clerk at International Criminal Court, Programme Manager at Mexican Commission for the Protection & Defence of Human Rights, and Outreach Coordinator at B’Tselem (Israeli Information Centre for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories). Mauricio has published various articles on business & human rights. In 2014 he was invited to join the board of director at EIRIS – Empowering Responsible Investment. Mauricio has a Law degree (honours) from University of Cambridge, and a BA in Political Sciences and History from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is fluent in Spanish, English & Hebrew.

Steve joined the Home Office in January 2014 as Deputy Director on the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP) in charge of the Technical Solutions area. The Technical Solutions area is responsible for the delivery of the User Services and Mobile Services Lots in the main procurement, a number of related procurements (extended area services, handheld and vehicle devices, air to ground network and devices and control room upgrades) and dependent programmes such as Mobile Infrastructure Programme, Crossrail and London Underground. Steve joined from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) where he had been since 2008 having been specifically recruited to manage the ICT security for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As the UK’s largest ever-peacetime mobilisation of police officers, Steve worked at the highest levels within LOCOG, Government Departments, emergency services and suppliers to deliver what is considered one of the most successful Games in history. Under Steve’s management ICT security was also delivered ahead of schedule and to budget.

Prior to the NIA, Laura led on early diagnosis of cancer and tobacco control for a pan-London cancer programme, encompassing the piloting of early awareness cancer ‘pop up shops’ as well as pathway redesign to enable earlier diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Laura is passionate about ensuring equitable access to care and treatment for all.
