Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia is Founder and Non-Executive Chairman of Dominvs Group, a family-owned real estate and private equity business based in London. Founded in 2011, Dominvs Group is a fast-growing business with divisions specialising in hospitality, residential property, commercial property, aviation, private equity, and wealth management. The Group has more than £1 billion assets under management, over 12 hotels under ownership or development, and a gross development value of over £1.5 billion. Born in Uganda, he came to Britain at the age of 13 as a refugee with his mother, father and two brothers in 1972 after escaping the regime of Idi Amin. Along with his family, he spent the first year in the UK in a refugee camp. After finding permanent accommodation, he went on to spend much of his teenage years working in the markets of Petticoat Lane and Liverpool Street in London. Sukhpal is most known for founding Euro Car Parts, one of the largest vehicle parts distributors in Europe. He set up the company in 1978 at the age of 18 with a £5,000 loan from his father. Sukhpal started Euro Car Parts with one shop in Willesden, London and grew it to become a multi-million-pound business that now employs over 12,000 people and has over 300 branches across the UK. Under his leadership, Euro Car Parts invested heavily in the UK economy and created thousands of jobs. In 2017, Euro Car Parts opened an additional 778,000 square foot National Distribution Centre near Tamworth, Staffordshire. The result of an £80 million investment in the West Midlands, it is one of the largest car parts distribution facilities in the world and one of the largest automated warehouses in Europe. He sold the company to LKQ Corporation in October 2011 and went on to serve as the company’s Executive Chairman of its businesses in UK, Ireland and India until December 2018. Sukhpal is also Founder and significant shareholder of VAR Capital, an independent wealth management firm based in London, and has served as the company’s Chairman since 2012. In 2018, VAR was awarded Euromoney’s Best Family Office award. Sukhpal is a keen investor in Indian and British businesses. In 2016, he invested in e-waste processing company EcoCentric Management in Mumbai, India. A year later, he invested in Digraph Transport Supplies, a truck and trailer part distributor in Nottinghamshire. In 2019, Sukhpal launched the Ahluwalia Family Foundation to support causes and projects in the UK and India, with a special focus on education, enterprise, children and women’s rights, homelessness, immigration causes. Lady Judge is a Senior Advisor to Triangle Growth Partners, and chairs the Investment Advisory Committee.Lady Judge, a trained commercial lawyer, has an unusually broad and successful international career as a senior executive, chairman and non-executive director in both the private and public sectors. She was previously a partner in a major US law firm specialising in corporate and financial transactions. In 1980 she was appointed by the President as a Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Thereafter she was appointed as the first woman executive director of News International and Samuel Montagu and held many positions in the financial services industry including Chair of the UK/US Committee on Corporate Governance and Senior Advisor to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. She is currently Chairman of the Energy Institute of University College London and Chairman of the UK Pension Protection Fund. In 2002 she was appointed as a director of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and became its Chairman in 2004 and was reappointed in 2007. After completing two terms she was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Tepco Nuclear Reform Committee and Chairman of its Task Force on Nuclear Safety. She is also a member of the UAE Advisory Board for the Development of Peaceful Nuclear Energy. Lady Judge is a non-executive director of NV Bekaert SA (Belgium) and Magna International Inc (Canada) and a strategic advisor to a number of international corporations, including Statoil and Barclays. She is a member of the International Advisory Board of Sabanci University and a member of the Steering Committee of the Istanbul International Energy & Climate Center at Sabanci University. In addition she is currently a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University. In June 2010 she was awarded Commander of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to the nuclear and financial services industries.
